Dev Diary: Post release thoughts

Our game is actually out! It’s crazy to realize that.

Doing a soft launch was a decision made in an emergency marketing meeting held in the office stairwell. The game has been in development for years, much longer than Chris ever expected when he started the project. Everyone agreed that it was time to push it out already.

But we wanted it to be perfect. The game was ready to be released, but it wasn’t as polished as we wanted it to be. The soft launch was the idea that helped us find the right balance: we release the game for fans to play around with, but continue tinkering with it.

Since the launch we’ve seen a handful of issues pop up (which we expected), but our developer Chris has been working overtime trying to keep up and fix everything as it comes up. He had to take yesterday off because even he has limits (we never would have guessed!) but now we’re back on track, with things running smoothly.

With the game finally taking the first steps out the door, we’re already looking ahead to the coming weeks and months. Always an adventure!
