5 Fighting Fantasy books. 1 hero

A little while ago we had a thought on Twitter of playing through all the Fighting Fantasy books with just one hero. We realized it would be a ridiculous journey… then decided to plot it out anyway!

Here’s the result:

Warlock_25th

You begin your journey as a simple adventurer in search of treasure. You descend into the dungeons beneath Firetop Mountain and battle monsters on your way to untold riches. The path is treacherous but your thirst for wealth urges you on to uncover the powerful Warlock’s rumored treasure treasure.

You thought money was all you would ever need, but getting your hands on that treasure feels empty. You live in luxury for a while, but secretly yearn to return to the glory and excitement of adventuring.

So when you hear of the evil Balthus Dire, you jump at the chance to rid the world of terror and unsheathe your sword once again. You venture into the Citadel of Chaos and come face to face with the terrible wizard who is striking fear into the hearts of the people of Vale of Willow. After a fierce battle you emerge victorious.

Feeling pretty good about yourself but having no other evil baddies to destroy, you embark on an aimless journey looking for rights to wrong. It isn’t long before you wind up at Stonebridge, where an ancient war wages between the dwarves and trolls. Always a sucker for the underdog, you agree to help the dwarves by finding the lost pieces of a hammer in the Darkwood Forest, not a very pleasant vacation spot.

After restoring peace in Stonebridge you begin to become restless. You’ve uncovered treasure, slain evil, and ended a war. Now you’re bored. A notice at an inn you pass through catches your eye and a flash of inspiration strikes: there is nothing left for you on this earth. You enlist to travel to outer space.

Your excellent credentials immediately earn you the rank of Captain and you leave the earth to travel to undiscovered lands beyond. The universe heeds your call for adventure and sucks you through a black hole not to another planet, but to another world altogether. This time you aren’t alone: your entire crew is counting on you to bring them home.

You do finally manage to return home, but this adventure leaves you worn and weary. You’ve seen things you daren’t speak about, the stuff of peoples’ nightmares. You’re almost ready to hang up your gauntlets and settle down.

Of course that’s not to be. Word of your heroics has reached the village of Silverton, and they request your help to rid them from Zambar Bone, lord of the undead. You can’t find it in yourself to say no, and before you know if you’re in a city of thieves and vagabonds, fighting for your life and the lives of the entire village.

As you defeat the undead lord you feel the familiar surge of satisfaction and realize you couldn’t have it any other way. You will always be an adventurer, a fighter, a hero.

That is one well-travelled hero.

Is anyone interested in seeing more of this?
