The music of games and life

The right music can make or break anything. Take the most mundane thing you can think of and set it to epic music:

Congruent triangles, WOAH!

We really wanted DestinyQuest Infinite to be enhanced by the music. Battling dragons and orcs in silence is fun, but battling them to fast-paced combat music is even better! I like to imagine that all modern-day adventurers and dragon-slayers enter their battles with their armor, weapon of choice, and an mp3 player with headphones blasting a pulse-pounding soundtrack.

Of course, many people prefer to listen to their own music, so you can turn ours off if you like. Some of you might even prefer silence, especially while reading something, since it might make it easier to concentrate and imagine.

I spend a majority of high school unable to get anything done with music on in the background. It was too distracting. Then something happened and all of a sudden I couldn’t get anything done without something playing. Now I work better with music, but I can only read or write when the music has no words (Jim Brickman on Pandora is absolutely fantastic, if you’re looking for suggestions).

In fact, I’m so used to music I almost always have it playing at home. If I don’t, my 1.5 year old runs over to the boombox (yes I still have one of those!) and stands there looking intense until I notice and turn the music back on.

This trooper remain unscathed after 15 years of use, but couldn’t last 6 months with a baby.
